It is one thing to write a book; and when you have your book it can seem quite impossible to find a publisher or agent to consider it if you are not an established writer, a celebrity cook, a pop star or a footballer.
This is where, as the UK’s leading author funded publisher, we come in. We publish a wide variety of books, and you are welcome to browse our titles. If you publish with us, we provide editorial input, art and graphic design and proof preparation to a high professional standard. We list below a few points about which we are often asked:

We register copyright to your book, worldwide, in your name as the author, as soon as you sign a publication contract with us. This is very important; full intellectual property in your work remains yours exclusively.

Today, with the advent of digital printing, all of our books are stored electronically within our printer’s computer. Our wholesalers call off stock of all of our books, directly from the printer’s, as they anticipate requirements. This means that we have no limitations regarding print runs, and that we are never in the position of being unable to satisfy demand.

These are paid every six months, in January/February and June/July. Royalties are calculated on the sales figures supplied by our printers. They are calculated as follows: after retailers take their discount, net publishers’ receipts are approximately half of the cover price; for a book retailing at £10.99, this would be about £5.50. Initially, 45% of this (in the case of the £10.99 book, £2.45 per copy) goes to the author.
When the author has recovered the publication costs – which can take time – the profit is divided equally between author and publisher. In the case above the author would receive, having recovered the costs, about £1.23 per copy in perpetuity.
